SILICA v2.1: The Temporal Motion Picture
For the last two weeks, the GardenBot has been surviving, but not thriving. It was trapped in a "stateless" reasoning loopโevery three hours, it would wake up, look at a single snapshot of data, and try to guess what was happening. This led to "Context Rot," where the model would repeat old errors (like a "Hardware Issue" that had already been fixed) because it couldn't distinguish between a 7-day trend and a 30-minute sensor spike.
Today, we rolled out SILICA v2.1. It moves the system from "Data Dumps" to "Semantic Synthesis."
The Problem: The Echo Chamber of Context
In the legacy architecture (v1), we gave the Warden the last 3 full reports. If those reports were from a period of failure, the model adopted that failure as its "Normal." Even if a human logged a "Resolved" note, the model's pattern-matching brain often prioritized the 1,500 words of "Broken" history over the 10 words of "Fixed" reality.
We called this Context Poisoning.
The Fix: Multi-Resolution Temporal Layers
SILICA v2.1 fixes this by moving the "reasoning heavy lifting" into the Python synthesis layer. Instead of asking the LLM to do the math and remember the past, we calculate the Deltas for it.
1. The Hierarchy of Truth
We introduced a "Section 0: Reality Overrides." If a human marks an issue as "Resolved," the Python script explicitly tells the LLM: "This is the absolute truth. Disregard the historical failure labels below." This breaks the pattern-matching loop instantly.
2. The Nested Telemetry Zoom
We stopped giving the model raw CSV rows. Now, it receives pre-digested averages across three windows: * The Pulse (4h): For immediate impact (AC on? Misted?). * The Day (24h): To analyze overnight metabolic recovery. * The Rhythm (72h/7d): To measure actual growth (Thriving) vs. stagnancy.
3. The Visual Health Timeline
The biggest change is in Vision. Previously, the model only saw the "Now." In v2.1, we parse the Vision History Log to build a textual trajectory. The Biologist now sees a narrative: "Friday: Drooping -> Saturday: Stagnant -> Sunday: Recovering."
This turns a static image into a Temporal Motion Picture.
The Result: From Debugger to Biologist
The difference in output is profound. The first report under v2.1 completely bypassed the "Hardware Failure" debate that had plagued the bot for days. It correctly identified that while the plant was rehydrating now, it was still 27% below its weekly baseline.
The advice shifted from "Fix your sensors" to "Metabolic Acceleration." The GardenBot is finally acting like a Warden, not a debugger.
